considering the shortages and not having them on store shelves, that's pretty impressive.
Shortages is because it is being sold not because it isn`t being made.
When you sell out and dont restock thats called a shortage.
As far as I know it is being restock, but whenever stocks show up it is sold... it would be impossible to sell at faster rate without having available inventory.
First Microsoft console that had a world wide release as well I think.
Its because how well it plays Morrowind.
Not a great metric really! It only needs to sell one more console than the same time frame in the last generation for that to work. Plenty of series s on shelves around here. And still selling roughly half of what playstation are selling.
Considering the dumpsterfire that was the Xbox One launch and that the 360 also had a somewhat slow start it isn't that impressive, but growth is growth.
And well, they haven`t really gave any number or percentage of growth.
Well, I guess at this point it is obvious that the console was not affected by the lack of Halo Infinite at launch (or any other ¨big¨ first party game) in the slightest.
2 consoles (X+S) against 1 (360 or One) so it's not that difficult
The Xbox 360 was extremely limited during its launch period.
The Xbox One only launched in certain countries and was not available in other markets until 2014.
Today the video game market is nothing like it was in 2005 and has grown a lot in the last few years.
The opposite would have been worrying
X+S isn't two platforms. They literally have the same games. X doesn't have any exclusives that S doesn't have. If it did then the two-platform argument could work, but it doesn't. XOne had exclusives 360 didn't have, and 360 had exclusives Xbox didn't have, and X+S has exclusives One doesn't have. It's one platform smartly divided up to be enjoyed by various wallet sizes.
It still enable them to sell one of them for 300, or 200 less than X1 at launch.
No different to a PS5 Phyiscal and PS5 Digital or a 360 500gig to a 360 128gig harddrive.
Xbox Series X and S are 1 family of console. That's like saying Xbox One X and Xbox One S count as 2 consoles.
They don`t care about the number of consoles they sell, they said... them say they are breaking record, but forget to tell how much.
They dont care about the numbers you care about.
Sure, they don't care so much that they made sure to tell everyone that the irrelevant number of now is bigger than the irrelevant number from previous gen.
Its how they get there, not what numbers suit your agendas.
It's a no brainer,
Year after year of course sales will increase
And plus they're selling two consoles so seriously those numbers aren't impressive.
Scalpers continue to help boost sales. Steam Deck sold out aswell.
If there were no buyers scalpers wouldn`t even be interested after so many months.
Explain that to the full warehouses of Consoles and GPUs still waiting to be sold by sculpers.
And you certainly found this warehouses of Xbox belonging to a scalper right...
Search it up, they are buying thousands of units and reselling them over time. Steam Deck is already sold out because scalpers have jumped on it. Guess it must be that amazing yet no one has owned it yet. Record numbers are fluffed by sculpers demand.
Yes they are selling them over time. So just as I said, the scalpers are buying because there is a market to sell it for even higher, so without scalpers the consoles would be selling the same. Thousands of units is nothing compared to several millions sold. And search doesnt show this so called warehouse. It sure show some people that bought and reselled thousand consoles, but none that bought, weren
t able to sell and bought even more.
Sculpers arent sold out, The fastest selling is only because sculpers cleared all the stores and selling stock overtime. Again Record numbers are fluffed. No doubt they will sell, but at the speed they are isnt accurate at all.
