Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch sales grew 136 percent year-on-year in the US in October and sold 735,926 units. This is the second-highest October sales in video game history, according to NPD. The record is set by the Wii with 807,000 units sold in October 2008.
The Nintendo Switch has set a new record with 23 consecutive months as the best-selling video game console in the US, which is the most ever since NPD started tracking sales numbers.
The Switch has now sold over 22.5 million units in the US, according to NPD. It has also sold-in more than 63 million units worldwide, according to internal Nintendo data.
"Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite continue to provide one-of-a-kind gaming experiences on the TV or on the go, allowing holiday shoppers the choice of a video game system that matches their lifestyle," said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser.
"Seeing encouraging sales growth like this in the fourth October of Nintendo Switch proves to us that the system has many more years and great games yet to come."
Nintendo for Black Friday this year will sell a Switch bundled with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online membership for $299.99.
