Publisher Electronic Arts and developer BioWare have announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it will also have forward compatibility and enhancements for the Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5. It will launch in Spring 2021.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes remastered the three original Mass Effect games - Mass EffectMass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. This includes all the DLC, promo weapons, armors, and packs. Each game will have updated textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features.

"Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form," said BioWare's Casey Hudson.

"It’s been amazing to see the adventures of Commander Shepard take on new life in super-sharp resolution, faster framerates, and beautiful visual enhancements. As game developers, we always hope that our games will transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on, and will be experienced better and clearer than ever before."

I'm hoping some love gets poured into this project and it's not just a fresh coat of paint. They hint at that... but you never know with EA.

Isn't technology great that way? It works when you test it and yet somehow breaks when you need it most :P

At last. Should have released before Andromeda, but better late than never and hopefully it gets some modern tech. Just worried about EA's awful business practices.

The problems I find with remakes if they often end up looking like they are just enhanced ports of the games. Think Mafia 2, Kingdoms of Amalur and the Ezio Collection.

Enhance it for Switch, Xbox Series S+X and Playstation 5.
