Playr2: Modern Warfare 3 Most Frequently Searched Title

According to games comparison and marketplace website Playr2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the most frequently searched-for unreleased title on the site in the past month.

Batman: Arkham City came in a close second in Playr2's search statistics, while the latest Uncharted game came in third. Playr2 says its research suggests that these games are the most highly-anticipated titles of the Christmas season.

“We’re continuously seeing searches for video game titles yet to be released on site, as I’m sure that gaming fans are desperate to see previews or news about the titles that they’re most looking forward to being released," said Playr2 Founder Simon Kilby. "Quarter 4 is always a popular time for big-name releases, particularly given its proximity to Christmas, and that’s certainly the case this year with some of the year’s big name titles due for release.”

“It wasn’t surprising to see the latest installment to Call of Duty topping the search statistics," Kilby added, "particularly given how popular Black Ops proved to be when it was released in 2010.”

Below are the top 10 most anticipated video game releases of Q4 2011, according to Playr2, based on the number of searches made for each title on-site in the past month:

4) Assassin’s Creed Revelations
5) Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
