Overview
There are no games in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch. Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC) flies into the top 10 this week. The top five games include Gears of War 3 (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360), Battlefield 3 (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3), and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360). The entire top 20 now has 100,000 pre-orders, which is up from 18 last week. Three games add 50,000 or more pre-orders, up from two last week and six add 20,000 or more, down from nine last week.

Gears of War 3 (X360) is at the top as it adds 55,000 pre-orders up from 35,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at 1.31 million pre-orders. The game is seven weeks away from launch, on September 20 in America and EMEAA and September 22 in Japan. Gears of War 3 for the third week in a row added less pre-orders than Halo: Reach during the same number of weeks before launch. Halo: Reach didn’t have the same number of pre-orders or greater until it was three weeks from launch.
Battlefield 3 (X360) is at number three as it adds 38,000 pre-orders, down from 50,000 last week, for a total of 397,000. The PlayStation 3 version is at number 10 as it adds 13,000 pre-orders, down from 20,000 last week, for a total of 189,000. The game is 12 weeks away from launch, October 25 in America and October 28 in EMEAA.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) is the second most pre-ordered game and it also adds most pre-orders for another week. The game adds 59,000 pre-orders, down from 72,000 pre-orders the previous week. The game currently has 663,000 pre-orders and is 14 weeks away from launch, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. Call of Duty: Black Ops (X360) the game with the biggest opening in gaming history, didn’t reach the same number of pre-orders until it was eight weeks away from launch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) is at number four as it adds 17,000 pre-orders this week, down from 29,000 last week. The game is currently at 302,000 pre-orders and will launch in 14 weeks, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) the game with the biggest opening for the PlayStation 3, didn’t have at least the same number of pre-orders until it was 10 weeks away from launch.
Also in the top 10: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360) is at number five as it adds 18,000 pre-orders, down from 19,000 last week, for a total of 277,000. The game is 14 weeks away from launch, November 11 in both America and EMEAA.
Madden NFL 12 (X360) is up one spot to number six as it adds 42,000 pre-orders, up from 22,000 last week, for a total of 273,000. The game is four weeks away from launch, August 30 in America and September 2 in EMEAA.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (X360) is down one spot to number seven, as it adds 16,000 pre-orders, down from 33,000 last week, for a total of 254,000. The game is 15 weeks away from launch, November 15 in America and EMEAA.
Madden NFL 12 (PS3) is at number eight as it adds 42,000 pre-orders, up from 24,000 last week, for a total of 195,000. The game is four weeks away from launch, August 30 in America and September 2 in EMEAA.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC) flies into the top 10 at number nine as it adds 97,000 pre-orders, down from 115,000 last week, for a total of 234,000. The game currently has no release date in America.
Notable mentions outside the top 10: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception adds 9,000 pre-orders for a total of 164,000. Batman: Arkham City (X360) adds 12,000 pre-orders for a total of 158,000. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (X360) adds 14,000 pre-orders for a total of 106,000.
Requests from last week’s article for games that are not in the top 20: Resistance 3 (PS3) adds 6,000 pre-orders for a total of 65,000. Battlefield 3 (PC) adds 5,000 pre-orders for a total of 60,000. The Last Guardian (PS3) adds 500 pre-orders for a total of 28,000.

Too bad youre not allowed to preorder MW3 for Wii anywhere. best buy cant because preorder cards only have 3 barcodes. TRU can't because they only had 2, PS3 nd 360. No PC or Wii. Gamestop just looked at me funny and refused to even look it up saying it's not coming out for Wii. The other gamestop just said it's not "available right now" to preorder. How this franchise continues to pass the million mark every time despite all it has going against it is beyond me, you certainly can't thank marketing or promotion. I guess I will find it day 1 like Black Ops after going through hoops to try and pre-order that.
