GoldenEye Reloaded Made Official
by Jake Weston, posted on 20 July 2011 / 1,425 ViewsSure, we all pretty much knew this was coming due to the reveal of leaked screens yesterday, but today Activision officially announced GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for PS3 and 360 at Comic-Con. Not only is the originally Wii exclusive title getting a major graphical overhaul, it will also run at 60 FPS, feature up to 16-player multiplayer, new multiplayer modes, and entirely new single-player levels.
A lot of people may have been skeptical of a port of the game to high definition consoles, but it's starting to look like this will be the ultimate version of GoldenEye (at least the ultimate version of the remake that is).
In a press statement from Activision Executive Vice President David Oxford:
We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles...and now with full PlayStation Move functionality, 007 fans all around the world can play the game in full HD in more ways than ever before.
Rob Dyer, Senior Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, had this to say about the PlayStation 3 version:
Promising to be one of the most immersive and interactive Bond games to date, this is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation fans to experience one of the most iconic and action-packed shooters in an all new way with PlayStation Move and the Sharp Shooter peripheral. By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move’s Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation.
This is great for PS3 owners, who will be able to get the motion-controlled experience of the Wii version if they feel so inclined to.
