Overview

There are three games in the top twenty to be in its final week before launch Mortal Kombat for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Socom 4: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS3), and Portal 2 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The top five games include Gears of War 3 (X360), Mortal Kombat (PS3), Portal 2 (X360), Mortal Kombat (X360), and SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS3). The top eight games have 100,000 or more pre-orders. Three games add 50,000 or more pre-orders, six add 20,000 or more pre-orders and nine add 10,000 or more pre-orders.

Games in final week before launch

Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is the top game before launch as two versions of the game are in the top 20, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They add a combined 77,000 pre-orders, down from 104,000 last week, for a combined total of 456,000. The PlayStation 3 version is at number two as it adds 37,000 pre-orders, down from 65,000 the previous week, for a total of 264,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 350,000 to 450,000 unit range. The Xbox 360 version is at number four as it adds 40,000 pre-orders, up from 39,000 last week, for a total of 193,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 275,000 to 375,000 unit range.

SOCOM 4

SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS3) is also in its final week before launch. It adds 36,000 pre-orders, up from 28,000 last week, for a grand total of 184,000 pre-orders. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 275,000 to 375,000 unit range.

Portal 2 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are in the top 20 and are in their final week before launch. The game adds a combined 186,000 pre-orders for a final total of 373,000. The Xbox 360 version adds 118,000 pre-orders this week up from 18,000 last week, for a total of 213,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 300,000 to 400,000 unit range. The PlayStation 3 version adds 67,000 pre-orders up from 21,000 last week, for a total of 160,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 250,000 to 325,000 unit range.

Other Hot Games

Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 (X360) is at the top as it adds 60,000 pre-orders up from 55,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at 381,000 pre-orders. The game is still 23 weeks away from launch.

Also in the top 10: Brink (X360) is at number seven down from number five last week. The game adds 19,000 pre-orders up from 12,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at a total of 134,000 and is four weeks away from launch.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) is at number eight down from number six last week. The game adds 1,000 pre-orders down from 2,000 last week. The game currently sits at 105,000 pre-orders and has no release date in America.

Metal Fight Beyblade (DS) falls two spots to number nine as it adds just 217 pre-orders this week, which brings it to a total of 97,000 pre-orders. The game has no release date in America.

L.A. Noire (X360) jumps into the top 10 as it adds 17,000 pre-orders up from 12,000 pre-orders last week. The game currently sits at a total of 96,000 pre-orders and is five weeks away from launch.

Notable mentions outside the top 10: The PlayStation 3 version of L.A. Noire adds 11,000 pre-orders for a total of 69,000. Duke Nukem Forever (X360) adds 8,000 pre-orders for a total of 59,000.

it`s really amazing, that portal 2 is much more for XBOX than on PS3. I know, the userbase is bigger in favor of xbox, but to get Steamcoop play, and PC Version for free

Socom 4 is gonna fail. MK looks good and great job for Portal! But I doubt the 360 version sold that high compared to the Ps3 version

SOCOM 4 > Killzone 3 What the hell are you talking about? I played the beta for both games and Killzone 3 just plain sucks, SOCOM 4 is fun.

where is the preorders for portal 2 on pc? but yet you cant track the digital downloads though which is valve's bread and butter for these games.

Portal 2 on PS3 comes with a PC/Mac version of the game and Has Steam Compatibility... But, since PS3 Owner's wallets are spent on the exclusives we got... Portal 2 on PS3 will not sell as well... because right now... Xbox 360 has No Good games out and people are desperate to play something new...
