During the period, Capcom earned 70.773b Yen ($863.4m) and saw profits of 6.836b Yen ($83.9m). In the nine months to December 2009, Capcom earned $613.3m in revenue and $21.2m in profit at current exchange rates. The profit figure is roughly four times greater in the current nine month period, while revenues grew a respectable 42%. Capcom retained its fiscal year forecast of 91b Yen in revenue ($1.12b) and 6.5b Yen in profit ($79.8m). The projected figures for April 2010 to March 2011 are up 36% for revenue and 200% for profit.
During the nine months ending December 2010, Capcom released a number of hits. As of December 2010, the company lists the following lifetime shipment figures:
Monster Hunter Portable 3 - 4.1m
Dead Rising 2 - 2.2m
Super Street Fighter IV - 1.6m
Lost Planet 2 - 1.5m (noted as"less than projected shipment")
At 4.1m units in essentially one month, MHP3 is already Capcom's fourth biggest game of all time (as the company seperates skus for MHP2G). Total shipments of Monster Hunter games are now at 17m units - behind only Mega Man, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter as ranked by total units shipped across all games in a franchise.
Capcom shipped 7.5m games to Japan, 3.9m games to North America, 3.7m games to Europe, and 400,000 games to Asia during April to December 2010.
The Smurf's Village, an SNS game, and a spinoff of Mon Hun Nikki for cell phones have also performed well for Capcom in the digital realm.
