2009 IGF Finalist NightSky Coming To WiiWare

The IGF is a great showcase of talent for indie developers, but each year as new games are nominated and chosen as finalists and winners, the old tend to be forgotten, especially if those games haven't seen release within their chosen year. The 2010 IGFs have come and gone with a great showcase of games, but a 2009 finalist you can expect to see soon is NightSky, by Nicalis.

Nicalis made the announcement on Twitter that their ambient puzzle/ physics platformer will be available "soon", but the real treat here is the NightSky website, which contains all manner of things for you to explore and gives you some idea of what you can expect to see in the game.

With over 10 different levels, each broken down into 13 areas to explore, the gameplay for NightSky is reminiscent of this year's IGF Finalist Limbo. However, instead of a small boy, you're controlling a crystal sphere through unique silhouetted environments to unlock the story. With six hours of gameplay and two different modes, NightSky is definitely one to keep your eye on for Wii owners.

Why are the silhouettes in NightSky, Limbo, and Donkey Kong Country Returns so damn beautiful? I must have all of them!
