god of war will have bigger sales than mw2 in the americas and maybe even in the uk because i checked mcuv god of war is doing pretty well.

Yeah, Alan Wake should be on there. It's impressive to see Halo: Reach on there, despite the fact it's nearly still a year away.

and the 200 dollar 360 makes a profit of about $40 and the 300 dollar one $50. and that wasnt my point. is was just trying to say that ps3 is in the hole 4.7 billion so how could it win this generation. simply put it couldnt and wont win this generation in terms of money made.

@gaming_addict24: Blu-ray is nowhere near 200$ value. You can buy new Blu-ray drive to PC for 70$.

@ hudsoniscool well for starters just the built in blu-ray player alone would sell for $200 and the rest for $100 so the 360 has no excuse to sell at $300 so trust me when i say that they can be making profit even if the 360 was being sold at just $100.

I won't reserve God of War III. I downloaded the demo from my GoW Collection and it's just more of the same, but just uneccessarily bloodier and nastier.

about time this chart was released can anywone tell me why there was no info last week pity the #s for MAG +Bioshock 2 on PS3 are pretty low, then again MAG is a new IP (and not in the popular category of FPSs) and Bioshock came out on PS3 later, so its not so well known its nice to see BFBC2 doing well on both counsels nice #s for PS3 FFXIII, white knight chronicles and Heavy rain. but GOW 3 IS A BEAST!!!

So what is a typical pre-order number for a Zelda title anyhow? I know that Nintendo games always have a MUCH lower pre-order ratio than the PS3/Xbox360 games, but is it something like 1/4 the rate, or something even lower?

first off god of war 2 wont be that big. neither one of its predessors sold more then 3m copies. and thats what i project just under 3m for god of war 3. @Hellomoto dude first off its called odst. second bungie sid it exceeded there expectation because its not a full game and they no it.projecting reach to out proform halo 3 isnt a streach as there will be more then double the consoles when reach arives.(there will be about 40m consoles compares to 18m when halo 3 came out) @gaming_adict24 ps3 will never beat xbox in terms of money made. isnt the ps3 in the hole more then 5 billion dollars while the 360 is just a bout to make an overall profit. in sales yes at the pace its going it will pass 360 by like septmber or so. but all microsoft would have to do is make a 50 dollar price cut and 360 would be back on top. ps3 wouldnt be able to make that cut because there in the hole so bad.

God of War III=BEAST!!! I think ME2 will pass M.A.G. next week, but it's nice to see M.A.G pass 100,000 in pre-orders(though some probably bought for the beta)

Good to see Bad Company 2 get a strong showing. Been playing the PS3 beta and must admit that this is FINALLY a real battlefield game. I'll be getting the PC version because of the enhancements and controls but would highly urge any old school battlefield fan to keep an eye on that game regardless of the platform. DICE is finally returning to form and is actually developing the game to use the strengths of each platform. Also glad to see Silent Hill shattered memories getting some love on the list. Can't wait for some good ole real survival horror!! Finally also happy to see Aliens vs Predator make a showing, another game I will be getting on the PC but happy to see it getting some attention. From what I've read, that game will blow away many peoples expectations. Not many know how great the original PC game was and the sequel looks to expand on everything ;) (survival horror = marine gameplay, stealth action = predator gameplay, fast agile platforming and melee = alien gameplay)

Wow... GoW3 will have a massive opening, far bigger then what I was expecting when it was announced :-) The Saboteur... what happened here? The game got great previews, and I remember a lot of buzz surrounding that game a couple of months ago...

God of War III is in good shape! I am sure FF XIII, GT 5 and Mass Effect 2 will pick up loads of pre-orders after the holidays. Most of the big games aren't coming to March, so there is plenty of time for sales to pick up (not ME 2, though that still has enough time for a good launch)

My god, this is one of THE most uncivil comments sections I've seen compared to other preorder charts.

God of War 3 is selling extremely well, considering it's not out until April. I think it could be the biggest PS3 Exclusive launch in terms of sales to date. I'm not sure if it will sell more on the PS3 week 1 than MW2 though. Time will tell. With 8 weeks left to go, there's no way Mass Effect 2 will catch GOW3. MAG pre-orders are kind of low, IMHO. As someone who is in the Beta, I'm just not that impressed with the game. I don't think it will sell more than 1 million copies lifetime. Good sales for Bad Company 2 as well. I'm kind of surprised that the PS3/360 sales are neck and neck, with PS3 about to pull ahead, since shooters usually sell better on the 360. I'm also impressed that it's outselling Bioshock 2 by so much on both consoles. The lack of Wii games on this list really sticks out.

I wonder which company will get the advertising rights to FFXIII, my guess is that even in NA and EU Sony will take it. They took Tekken rights and I actually have no doubts that even in NA FFXIII will sell more on the PS3. FFXIII on 360 just seems silly now, obviously something done at the time due to the terrible PS3 sales but much has changed since then. If the 360 version does manage 1.5-2 million sales then I do hope Versus goes multi-plat because the fanbase is there on the 360 but if not then hopefully we get a SE excluisve which shows off the PS3.....like the good ol' days last generation where FF titles were marvels.

glad to see it on the list but im sure AVP hasnt got a release date yet Halo Reach already is insane, we barely know anything about it apart from its an FPS and its for 360 and gaming_addict24 ps3 still has a lot of work to do to beat the 360, which is still at least 6 million ahead

God of War III is having higher increases than Mass Effect 2. At this rate, ME2 will never take the top spot. However, it was pretty clear that L4D2 preorders held back ME2 preorders. Now, M.A.G. is having a slow climb...Sony really need to start advertising the game.

Kind of depressing to not see Other M or The Last Guardian up there. Maybe next week since 5 are falling off this week. Sony really needs to announce a firm release date for GT5. Too bad we don't have a PAL preorder chart. I'd love to see what it's at on that.

Funny to see Dante's Inferno having more pre-orders on the PS3 than the 360, even though we have God of War III. We get the best of both worlds! Also, look at the Bayonetta pre-orders. More on the PS3 even though Sega is promoting the 360 version out the ass. People have to be reading the 360/PS3 reviews...seems like they don't care that the PS3 has a few problems. i figured reach would make its way on by the end of the year but its already on there wow.i thought it would make it on after the vga's. mass effect 2 is looking good it will take the lead. it could happen soon if its preorders continue to rise, but i see it taking the lead a week or 2 before its release. bioshock is dominating on 360. almost 3 to 1 for 360. servers them right for not staying exclusive. i dont see MAG gettting to many more pre-orders. i hear mixed reception from it and i think a lot of people are only pre-ordering it for the beta. im also really happy to see AVP get on the list. it looks really good, and thats all it has 11k. i think its because marketing for it is really reallylow. iv only seen it on x-play twice. no comercials nothing. splinter cell is catching momentum. only 3 or 4 weeks ago it was getting less then 1k a week. the differance in FF13 isnt very bad. but if u see whats the differace everywhere else is for ps3 its probably out pre-ordering the 360 version 3 to 1. and 15 to 1 in japan. i saw heavy rain on there and thought weres allen wake. is that game coming out later in the year. like may or june? @ the thunder i dont think gow will have that big of a opening. i see a .75 to 1.5 million first week. gow 1 only sold 3m copies and gow2 even less, and they did that when there was way more consoles. i can see a 3m total sales lifetime but no more.

Considering all the talk about 360 not having a jrpg fanbase, FFXIII PS3 winning at only a 3:2 ratio to the 360 version is not a big deal at all. Yeah... in NA where the 360 is 2x the size of the ps3 its a huge deal. WW the ratio will be closer to 4:1 on a smaller user base.

Wow, it looks like the new Army of Two will do pitifully compared to the first. Ahh well, life goes on. Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks like it will have a super special awesome launch. Weird to see the Top 2 games being PS3 games, IN AMERICA. Mass Effect 2 could definitely take the top spot soon though. I look forward to it.

FFCC :/ I'm guessing the other big games are overshadowing it. Not like the actual big one, FF XIII. Shame. FF XIII preorders are pretty close. TvC being there is cool. @Okey Lol, DQ X's exclusivity won't be decided by a FF spinoff. That's easily a 4+ million selling game. Not to mention Nintendo said they'd market it int the West so there's a deal there.

I just pre-ordered Splinter Cell last week. It looks like it's going to have a pretty good first week. I can't wait!

Wrpg 360:PS3 ratios are much bigger in Americas (2:1 or more. Even now post-slim hype, Dragon Age: Origins on 360 has more than double sales on 360 and for Borderlands, the gap is well over 3:1). FFXIII is doing reasonably well on the 360 thus far. And since these are pre-orders, the FF fanboys (whom are more likely to be PS fanboys) are going to be over-represented and the casual FF/jrpg fans will be underrepresented. So after release, when the more casual buyers come in to play, I think the gap will narrow some.

And people said GOW3 should be delayed because FF13 will effect it sales lool, it will probably be the other way around. I'll predict that God of War 3 will have the third largest 1st week in NA for a PS3 game behind GTA IV&MW2 and it will surpass MGS4&U2 FW in NA at least. Also BFBC2 numbers are really close considering it's a FPS and it's NA after all, I guess the exclusive Beta is doing the PS3 version wonders. Will see how it goes. Oh and thanks Brett as always.

Crystal Bearers comes out this year and it's nowhere to be seen here. Looks like it's going to bomb in America too. There is no reason for it to do badly. It's a good game and it has the Final Fantasy name. Wouldn't surprise me if SE is reconsidering Dragon Quest X's Wii exclusivity.

So Tatsunoku vs Capcom makes the list at #34. 12k without a release date will make for a good debut by next year, but it won't have legs. However, it should sell more than the Japanese release. It's already 11% of the way there.

FF XIII PS3 is both higher in the charts and is also climbing at a quicker pace. That FF XIII PS3 to win all territories prediction is becoming truer with every coming week.

@ nathantay i would have to say that GOW pre-order chartz are decreasing but ME2 only has 13,000 a week and GOW3 has 17,500 a week so it does have a chance but GOW3 is 26,000 ahead and probably 30,000 next week so i dont see GOW3 losing its #1 spot until its released in march.

Poor MAG lost its chance at number one to God of War. Also ps3 owners really like their action games.

MAG preorders will be a big tricky. I preordered to get the Beta and it sucked a$$.... Im not going to buy it and will get BFBC2 instead. I know Im not the only one who was dissappointed with the MAG beta. The smartest thing Zipper can do is to have reviews of the game released after the game releases because I have a feeling that MAG will have many poor reviews.
