Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tops 9 Million Units Sold Worldwide at Retail - Sales

The kart racing game from Nintendo - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - has reached a new sales milestone, according to our estimates. The game has surpassed nine million units sold worldwide at retail. The figure can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending August 11.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 72,077 units for the week ending to bring lifetime sales to 9,067,443 units. It took the game 68 weeks to reach the milestone.

Breaking down the sales by region, the game had sold best in Europe with 3,326,019 units sold (37%), compared to 3,096,525 units sold in the US (34%) and 1,769,092 units in Japan (20%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game had sold an estimated 539,073 units in the UK, 736,517 units in Germany, and 809,688 units in France.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe released for the Nintendo Switch worldwide on April 28.

Can we simplify and consider that usualy, at least for the Switch : UK+FR+GE = ~50% of the sales in Europe ?
