1m sales in 3 weeks, so it's moving faster than both Control 1 and Alan Wake 2, Alan Wake 2 launch was 3x above Control 1, and Alan Wake 2 moved 1m in 2 months and 1.3m in 4 months. Control 2 break even point was estimated at around 2m sales due to a €50m development budget and unknown marketing budget, so will be months to go before it breaks even. Alan Wake 2 took over a year to break even, though it had a €70m development budget, higher than Control 2.
It definitely helps that this was released on Steam as well. Considering that Alan Wake II has been profitable for a while now, it seems certain that this one will become profitable too, and probably way sooner than Alan Wake II.
AWII had a €50m Development budget, and €20m marketing budget, €70m total, but a lot of new sites misquote that number.
Awesome well deserved for this team. Loved the game. Should be able to pop the plat tonight.
My physical steelbook edition arrived today. I guess they waited for the physical release to announce the combined sales.
