E3 2009: Perfect Dark Hitting Xbox 360 Consoles This Winter

It has been hinted, denied, and now (apparently) confirmed via Major Nelson's own Twitter account, but it certainly sounds like the Xbox 360 is finally getting the debut adventure of the Perfect Dark franchise soon.  Will it be the original game?  Sequel to the lackluster Xbox 360 original?  I think we all know the answer to that, and here's the the Major had to say:

"In the booth. Just saw Perfect Dark on XBLA running 1080p. It is coming to XBLA this winter. Free theme coming tomorrow!"

Perfect Dark running at 1080p resolutions?  Surely he couldn't be talking about upscaled Nintendo64 graphics, could he?  It sounds like not every secret has been revealed so far at E3, so stayed tuned for more Joanna Dark action as soon as it becomes available, and hey, free themes are always nice!

Expected. This game was published by Rare themselves. Goldeneye however, was published by Nintendo.

Yea this is the news ive been waiting on since zero came out, i have kept my 64 on life support, its over now i can put my 64 to rest but i may still pull it out for some 007 from time to time. i just hope that they have multi player splitscreen online play. KING OF THE HILL FTW Man this is gonna rock please dont watter the game down i want bots and all the modes :)

FUCK!!!! this shyt sucks. I was so excited when I fired up vgcharts home page and saw this link. Then I find out it's an arcade game!?!?!?!?!?!?!? FUCK YOU RARE!!!!! Why the hell are you all excited, we've just been duped. All this talk about "2 super secret national security important games coming from rare". And it's an arcadde game!!!!!!!???? FU RARE! First epic now rare. WTF is going on with these once brilliant devs hyping up arcade games as if they were new ips or full blown next gen sequels???

I just got the orig for my N64 a couple weeks ago in box with instructions for 10 bucks... This is why I keep old systems lol. no need for this.

It will be running natively at 1080p obviously, why upscale it when they can just make it render at 1080p so it will look crystal clear and sharp.
