This is just insane (in a good way). A new console IP doing this well in Japan is almost unheard of these days.

Not surprised, the game is amazing. :D

I can see Japan loving the art style and since shooters are generally not very popular in Japan (or at least I don't think they are, I'm talking out my ass here), this must be something quite special over there.

Never thought to see forum threads show up as news articles.

You know what this doesn't say? How much that actually is. I feel like this ignores the fact that Nintendo doesn't tend to send out very large initial shipments for a new IP, or really, anything that isn't Mario or Pokemon that they know will sell well. Especially with how Nintendo has been handling stock in general for most things the past six months or so, I would argue that selling out in a single country for a new title is entirely unimpressive at best.

It's been said that first day shipment was 150k...which is a lot for a console game in Japan, let alone a new IP.

It's been said, or has it been properly reported? Hearsay is not official numbers. I'd argue at best Nintendo shipped maybe 100k, probably closer to between 50k and 75k. Nintendo is bad at stocking, and I'm not going to believe that they took a risk printing that much on new IP that they're so fearful of developing and selling to begin with.

The way that nintendo has been marketing this game in Japan lead me(and many people) to believe that nintendo has faith in the performance in this game.So if thats the case, it stand to reason that it will ship a reasonable amount.50k to 75k is just too low, and simply has no logic by what nintendo is investing on it

lucky you obviously haven't been around very long. The 150k shipment number comes from a blogger that has been reporting first day sales in Japan for a long time. They have been accurate, of course you will find this out when you are wrong in a few days. We don't know the exact number on the upside because supposedly they shipped more on sunday but 130k would be the absolute minimum FW.

Look, I'm just giving you the facts that we know. You can choose to believe or not believe, I don't really care. Media Create will post the sold through numbers in less than a week, so we'll see what's "hearsay" then.
