Sony Preparing to Release 200,000 PS4s Per Year in China - News

Sony is prepping to release 200,000 PlayStation 4's per year in China, according to a report released in the Chinese website Pilot Free Trade Zone (translated by Bloomberg). This news came out just after the launch of the Xbox One in China where 100,000 units were sold.
A spokesperson for Sony Masaki Tsukakoshi has confirmed the document. However, he said Sony has not given out a release date for the console. He added that the actual figure of PlayStation 4's shipped per year may vary.
Sony has agreed to form two ventures with Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group Co. to start producing and selling PlayStation 4 consoles in China. Sony will have a 70 percent stake in the venture that produces the hardware and a 49 percent state in the one that works on software and networks.

200,000 per year? maybe i am just not understanding this article but that number seems super low
China isn't exactly a great place to sell videogames, it was even illegal last gen.
This may seem a bit low, but if we understand how conservative the Chinese government is (consoles have been banned for over a decade), this is a very generous figure.
Actually they are not conservative. They are just greedy, that's all.

BTW, the person that perchased the 1st xbox-one for China on the launch event, is wearing a t-shirt with "BELIEVE IN SONY FOR ETERNAL LIFE" and Kazuo Hirai's face on it. LMAO
- Expect to sell 1 million per annum and if the ban is reinstated, then they would have massive projection issues.
- 200,000 per annum would be over 4 million this gen in a new market. Not shabby by any standards.
- Japanese products are to China as the xbox would be to japan.
Mam, that's low. I was expecting higher numbers. Maybe in the future.
MS got approval to sell 5,000,000 X1's in China. I wonder why Sony's PS4 number is so low.
