Disney Interactive has told GamesIndustry International that Disney Infinity has sold well in its first month in the US. In its two weeks on sale in August the starter pack has sold 294,000 units. Disney is pleased with these numbers as it is ready to sell well over the holiday period.
"Disney Infinity sales are off to a strong start, selling 294,000 starter pack units in the US during the last two weeks of August," said the Disney Interactive spokesperson. "We're very pleased with the launch in both the U.S. and globally, and believe Disney Infinity is well-positioned for the critical holiday sales season."
Disney Infinity was announced in 2010 and has cost over $100 million to develop. The game launched in North America and Europe in August for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.
