this game in conjunction with the apps available for it on the 3ds to get legendary pokemon + the ability to play it on the nds gives gamefreak a massive pool of 170million consoles to sell to and all the while annoying parents from kids asking them to upgrade to a 3ds and buy them the app Pokemon Dream Radar so they can be on the same lvl as their friends. absolutely great move, the game couldn't have made 5million sales if it was just on the 3ds it would need a 1:4 attach rate to manage that currently. Maybe Nintendo is trying to get the DS above the PS2 in sales to become the all-time sales king? Only reason i can think of other then when they first started on this game the 3DS's numbers wasnt that high meaning less sales for the game. Message | Report |

This is overtracked(at least in America). Definitely won't reach Black/White level sales. But I guess this game alone will keep DS sales afloat this holiday. Is that really necessary though? Nintendo should be making people move on to a 3DS.... Message | Report |

@JazzB1987 It's prolly all the pre orders and stuff that amazon.co.uk had ready to ship out for the first day of sales so they knew exactly the number of them that flew out first day... have to day having picked up a copy of white2 this game looks great for a NDS game, even stretched out on a 3ds xl screen. @ganoncrotch I still doubt that the Dream Radar will push many units, especially considering the negligible impact it had in Japan. Anyway, this game is off to a good enough start. Best selling game of the year so far, and we're over 3/4 of the way through. Not bad at all. Message | Report |

@Salnax you know there is an AP for the 3ds called Pokemon Dream radar which is basically a pokemon version of face raiders that costs 2.99 on the eshop and allows you to catch legendary pokemon to start the game with + capture items to transfer into your game. This bonus alone will not only give a reason for people with R4 cards to actually buy the game but kids will cry at their parents that they need a 3ds so they can have the same shiny pokemon their friends have so it will also move a fair few 3ds's just from that AP. it's already broke 2.5m and it's only released in a region where the ds sells less than 10k per week? as much as the Ds hardware will be slowing down more and more you have to remember there is another 100k+ 3DS's every week out there and they all can play this too, and when it hits the states and euro I see this thing flying off the shelves.
