Netflix on WB Games: 'They're Relatively Minor Compared to the Grand Scheme of Things' - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 09 December 2025 / 1,482 ViewsNetflix last week announced it is acquiring entertainment giant Warner Bros. for $82.7 billion (equity value of $72.0 billion). Though, the deal needs approval from regulators and is not expected to be completed until Q3 2026.
Netflix co-CEO, president and director Gregory Peters speaking in an investors call attended by PocketGamer stated Warner Bros. Game didn't attribute any value to the deal.
Peters stated WB Games had done "great work in the game space, we actually didn’t attribute any value to that from the get-go because they’re relatively minor compared to the grand scheme of things."

He added, "Now we are super excited because some of those properties that they’ve built, Hogwarts is a great example of that, have been done quite well, and we think that we can incorporate that into what we’re offering.
"They’ve got great studios and great folks working there. So we think that there’s definitely an opportunity there. But just to be clear, we haven’t built that into our deal model."
Paramount Skydance has also stepped in attempting an all-case hostile bid by offering Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders $30 per share. The deal is reportedly worth $100 billion, but it does include Discovery, while the Netflix would let Discovery remain a separate company.

Well of course they are, owning rights, movies and HBO is far more important than the few billion revenue (which isn't the best of late) which isn't even profits. Many of their games produced are based on owned/licenced IPs anyway.
If anything, if the deal goes through, I expect Netflix to offload a bunch of the games side. Get rid of some of the studios.
WB's games side is pretty much Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, and DC, and the only one of those I care about is NetherRealm. Dan Forden has already retired. I can't see Netflix wanting to lose out on that Wizarding World money, though.
I would rather Netflix own Warner Bros. than Adolf Tariff and his legion of pedophile terrorists.
The icing on the cake: one of the partners Ellison was seeking in his bid to take over WB was Tencent, who committed $1bn to the effort. They've since pulled out out of concern that it could put them under a security review. So Ellison was seeking help from Kushner, the Saudis, and a Chinese megacorp.
A Trump supporter colluding with shithole countries doesn't surprise me.
In related news, I recently heard Netflix is bigger than Disney. I'm shocked if true.
In terms of revenue, assets, or number of employees no. Yes in terms of market cap.
Right now, Larry Ellison and the Trumps are trying to buy WB out from under Netflix. I can only imagine the shitshow they're going to create, if Paramount and CBS are anything to go by.
The Trump's can eat shit and so can Larry Ellison. That whole pedophile administration should rot in the harshest prisons for the rest of their lives.
Considering the sick way they already misuse stolen IP like Franklin the Turtle and Sabrina Carpenter's music, I can only imagine the monstrous propaganda they'd create if they didn't have to worry about C&D orders. Batman would be raiding Latino neighborhoods and dragging small children to Blackgate Penitentiary. Aquaman destroying fishing boats in the Caribbean. Superman going full Homelander. Wonder Woman would disappear to a life as a tradwife.
This is why I wish The Punisher was real.
