Final Fantasy VII Remake Video Compares Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC Versions - News

Square Enix has released a new video for Final Fantasy VII Remake that compares the different versions for the JPRG. This includes the Nintendo Switch 2 running in TV Mode, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X, and PC.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade director Naoki Hamaguchi earlier this month in an interview discussed the Switch 2 version.
"The Nintendo Switch 2 has great hardware specs," said Hamaguchi. "However, due to power consumption constraints, it’s designed to dial back performance a bit in handheld mode. So, since a straightforward port wouldn’t be enough to make the game run stably in handheld mode, we had our talented rendering programmers put in extra work on optimization."
He added, "I believe lighting is the crucial factor in terms of graphics quality and expression in this day and age."

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on January 22, 2026. It is an enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. It first launched for the PS5 in June 2021 and for PC in December 2021.
The entire Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC, as well as the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Depends on expectations but being able to run it at a locked FPS with the right settings is already excellent to me

Smooth 60 FPS at low settings. That's amazing. What world do you live in?I guess you don't play many Switch games. Is it even confirmed the Switch 2 version will have a 60 FPS mode? The original PS4 game was 30 FPS only.
Edit: Google says it's 30 FPS on the Switch 2.

FFVII Remake looks great on base PS4 so I'm expecting no difference for Switch 2. The main technical benefit of Integrade on PS5 is 4k & option for 60fps.
There are some changes in fog and improved textures streaming. The S2 should handle that comfortably at 1080p with DLSS and its 12GB RAM
The Switch 2 looks more blurry/fuzzy if that is the correct term.
The difference between the Switch 2 and Ps5/XSX is bigger than the one vs the PC.... however all of them look near identical, and perfectly fine to play on any of them imo.
I think the term is "softer'. Yes looks better on PS5, but the thing for me is the framerate. Game feels totally different at 60.
Game looks phenomenial on all platforms. Great work so far.
Looks gorgeous on all consoles. The game itself, isn't the best it's okay, but is necessary to play so you can play it's excellent sequel Rebirth.
