call me crazy but I believe PS5 will lose against Switch in Europe

While PS5 isn't likely to reach PS4 number in Europe (in the middle of 2024 PS5 is 4-5 mil units behind PS4 in the middle of 2017) there's a chance that it may reach Switch result there. Switch now has 35 mil mark and PS5 has 20 mil mark.
It's worth nothing that there's a lot of things for PS5 ahead. Switch has started 3.5 years earlier, then in 2019-2022 Switch had boosts which are partially caused with common conditions.
PS5 when started four years ago had some shortages especially in non-american regions. The sitiation improved in 2022. PS5 will be the main PS console until 2027 or 2028. It has 3 or 4 years in long term. Also a Pro console is on the way. There's a 15 mil margin between Switch and PS5 now in Europe. Now Switch's sales are quickly dropping worldwide. It feels like it's possible for PS5 to reach 15-20 mil units mark in the last 3 or 4 years of main cycle. To the mark of 35-40 mil units although it won't be 45 mil of PS4. The majority of 3-party devs have already stopped supporting pastgen, so there's one more reasons for boost even if there won't be a lot of 1-party games in 2025. (1-party games help to sell sonsoles but some multiplatform titles have more influence on hardware sales)

It could happen as the PlayStation 5 will probably never get a permanent price cut in Europe. How many people are willing in 2026 willing to fork over more than 500 euro just to buy a PS5 DE with GTAVI and a year of PS plus with just 2 years of live left.

That could cut it's late life legs short. PS5 will end up between PS3 and PS4 in Europe and Switch outsold the PS3 and at this point in its life PS5 is actually closer to PS3 than the PS4.

Granted the Switch hasn't had any price cuts either but it's a lot cheaper and didn't get a price increase.

Switch just flying away to victory as the pandemic years hit. I believe it did Xbox series' lifetime sales to date numbers in a single year back then.

I wanna say it was ~28 million for Switch, so not quite, but the fact it is within 1 million is redonkulous lol

The years from 2019 to 2022 were extremely successful for Switch. In 2019 and 2022 19 mil or so were sold and in 2020 and 2021 numbers were even higher. Then in 2023-2024 current numbers are at level of 2017-2018 sales.
