I think Starfield being poorly received is contributing to this. Maybe people are losing faith in the brand to put out good games.

2022 was a weak year of releases for Xbox, adding to the 2023 of ups and downs, it doesn't surprise me. Remembering that 2015 and 2016 were the strongest years of first party releases for the xone. That said, the xone after that lost a lot of traction, but I don't see that for the s/x. Hellblade 2, avawod and the probable arrival of COD on game pass will indeed make a difference.

Xbox Series sells kind of decent during the year, but during November/December it loses by a huge margin. That's really surprising...

PlayStation has God of War and Spider-Man, as well as third-party releases like the new Final Fantasy games. Xbox focusing so heavily on PC for 6+years now and lack of first-party games that shake the industry hurts hardware sales without a doubt.

If the xbox series has a 2024 as bad as 2023 then it is likely that it will end the generation with a maximum of 50 million in its lifetime

I say 45 million max. sales are falling off a cliff and don't forget Xbox one X launched and gave the Xbox one a nice boost.

I think it's kind of impossible, because I don't even think 2023 was a bad year, but one of ups and downs. Remembering that xone had a drop after 2016, with scalebound and Fable legends canceled. Already this year for the S/X, it looks very promising, COD on game pass, hellblade 2, avawod....
