I don't understand why the series x/s are so behind, i get that a lot of people are buying the PS5 now that it's way easier to find and that xbox's strategy isn't on mainly on hardware sales anymore but you'd think they would have sold 3M at least, a 22% drop in sales in year 3 is not normal

Xbox numbers were inflated last year due to the PS5 shortage, hence the big drop off. Regarding consoles sold is so low...I'd say it's rather shocking that a console with almost no exclusives even has 2mil so far this year., regardless of their GamePass program. The Wii U had so many games and yet would've been <1mil by this point in the year, for instance.

A few months ago during an ID@Xbox keynote at the BIG Festival in Brazil (Latin America’s largest gaming event), the company shared updated sales figures for both the Xbox X Series X|S and Xbox One. This was the data released to the world:

Xbox Series X|S has sold 21 million consoles to date
Xbox One has sold 58 million consoles
15.6 million users actively using the Xbox app each month
248.6 million Windows-based gaming PCs worldwide

Even before the adjustments (from 51 to 58M) XB1 broke 45M years ago, and passed 50M somewhere in 2021.
