Another useless trailer without gameplay...
It's somewhat impressive that 2022 PS5 game looks worse graphically than 2015 PS4 game (Arkham Knight)
The bad thing about Arkham Knight is that it had aliasing artifacts and pixel shimmer galore, and they have yet to release a PS5/Xbox Series update for it that implements a good anti-aliasing solution to fix that problem. So while some aspects of Arkham Knights graphics are definitely better, if you are averse to aliasing and pixel shimmer like I am, Gotham Knights may look overall better to you.
I wouldn’t count on a 9th Gen update to Arkham Knight. That game came pretty early in the 8th Gen cycle, and its only really games from the last few years (with a few exceptions like the Witcher 3) that are getting 9th Gen updates.
I'd settle for a 9th gen remaster that you have to pay for. The game currently looks pretty bad even on Series X back compat because it never got an Xbox One X update so it is still 900p, which coupled with the lack of anti-aliasing ruins the look of the game. Because rain is pretty much constantly falling in the outdoor parts of the game, the pixel shimmer caused by the falling rain drops is incredibly distracting. Even the indoor areas look rough due to the lack of anti-aliasing.
I’d even say that is unlikely as the game doesn’t have much enduring popularity, seen as the weakest of the trilogy. It would only be likely to get one as part of a remaster compilation with the rest of the Arkham series, but that was already covered by the Return to Arkham release so seems unlikely now.
Very good trailer, even though no gameplay was show. Hope I like the final product as well.
I looks impressive and glad the studio are able to get it out on time. I'm on the fence as while this is what I want from superhero games (not live service rubbish) I saw a trailer of the combat once and it seemed stuttered and not as free flowing as I'd hope. But will def pick it up on sale.
