IGN Hit With Layoffs, Including Hosts Seth Macy and Brian Altano - News

IGN has laid off an undisclosed amount of employees, including video hosts Seth Macy and Brian Altano. This is according to sources that spoke with Kotaku.
Macy confirmed on social media he was let go with a post stating, "I just got laid off."
Altano has worked at IGN since 2009 and been one of its main hosts since Kinda Funny‘s Greg Miller and Last Stand‘s Colin Moriarty left over a decade ago.
The sources state multiple departments on the video game website have been hit with layoffs. The scale of the layoffs isn't known, however, it could be influence by employees' remote status and if they were willing to relocate.
A life-long and avid gamer, William D'Angelo was first introduced to VGChartz in 2007. I don't watch much IGN, but Brian was solid all around with interests in all systems.
Yes, not watching/ reading much IGN anymore either. As for Brian, I never found he was as profound as he himself thought he was and wanted to appear, but I still had an idea he would be one of the profiles that was pretty safe due to his seniority in the company; apparently not.
Were they responsible for Wolverine review?
I haven't followed IGN since pre-2010 but I really liked Brian Altano. Shame to see him go.

Matt and Peer (the OGs) and Jose Otero (went to work at Nintendo) really were the show. Even Filip was starting to do good too but did wrong and was fired. It kind of died after that.
Daemon and Ryan and even Max are their top 3 and they are struggling to find any additional members of that caliber. Tough job finding charismatic gamer hosts, I couldn't do it. Hope they can continue!
Brian Altano was one of their better talents in video presentations and podcasts and also had broad interests and covered multiple systems.
An unfortunate and frankly very stupid layoff, in my estimation.

Brian has a sense of humour and enthousiasm, which I liked. Curious what card board hosts will stay.
IGN was my go to site for coverage of E3. Ever since E3 stopped being a thing I stopped visiting the place.
Well with AI they don't really need people anymore. AI can even sustain their 'console-war-for -clicks' viewership.
