Pokemon Puzzle League over Pokemon Stadium? Seriously?

Current guess: this is kin to Ash showing up in Masters. They want to give him a push for the current Masters Tournament arc in the anime (no relation to the mobile game)

Except the game never released in Japan so isn’t available on NSO there and the anime episodes of the Masters Eight currently aren’t airing outside of Japan.
