343 Industries Working on Halo Infinite Year-End Update - News

Following technical issues in the gameplay reveal for Halo Infinite, developer 343 Industries delayed the first-person shooter from an Xbox Series X|S launch title to 2021. Since the delay, we haven't heard much about the game.

343 Industries community director Brian Jarrard took to Twitter to admit there are things they are overdue on and they are working on a "year-end update" for the upcoming Xbox flagship title.

"Nothing gets a post-holiday Monday going like fresh unfounded Halo Infinite rumors," said Jarrard.

"Btw yes I’m aware we could help solve this with real news. We certainly have some things we’re overdue on and eager to talk more about. We’re in the process of pulling together a year-end update."

He admits no update is going to satisfy all fans, but they want to turn the page on 2020 and bring fans along the journey in 2021.

"The Infinite road hasn’t been easy," he added. "This year in particular has been incredibly challenging. We have hundreds of developers who truly only want to make the best Halo game they possibly can. It pains all of us when the community is hurting.

"No update is going to satisfy everyone. We want to turn the corner as 2020 comes to an end and leave the challenges of this year behind us and look ahead to 2021. We are committed to bringing you along on this journey, we just ask for bit of patience and understanding."

Halo Infinite will launch in 2021 for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

My stance is it will be ready when its ready. March is generally a month publishers try to hit and assume that's the goal. Any later, oh well. While we wait I suggest they assign a second studio to work on Halo games as well and perhaps get a studio to essentially remaster Halo 5 for Series S/X. They greatly improved Halo:MCC and they could still do plenty to improve the IP.

I predict a spring release, they just really have to get their marketing act together.

Putting all together for me it seems like it will still take a long time to release, perhaps second half or even holiday 2021.
