Nintendo has announced two new Nintendo Switch 2 bundles that will be made available in the next couple of months.
The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will release in late September for $549.99. It will include a digital copy of Mario Kart World and a three month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership.
The Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle will release on October 22 for $529.99. It will include a digital copy of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and a three month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership.
Nintendo will be increasing the price of the Switch 2 on September 1 from $449.99 to $499.99.

It is interesting why they wouldn’t hold off just one more week, though I also wouldn’t expect that the crowd of consumers picking up a Switch 2 for Switch Sports is paying too close attention to these sorts of things.
I thought the bundles weere gonna ship for 499.99 to help mititgate the price increase. Everyone is aware that the Switch 2 launched with a Mario Kart bundle for 499.99.
They are quite possibly just breaking even at $499. But I agree with you. They should prioritize user acquisition over profit margins at this stage in the lifecycle.
But can they afford to do that?
Bundling a first party game doesn’t cost them anything per se. It can potentially be a lost sale, but only in some cases.

user acquisition is obviously important to them, but it also depends of how much effort they need to do to actually get it without the necessity to lower their profits if it's not that much necessary
The data they've communicate about Tomodachi Life players on Switch 2 shows that they already gathered a pretty important chunk of their "core" playerbase on Switch 2 in the first year. It might actually not be worth it to subsidize profits that much, maybe the bundles (and the more games that comes along the way) are enough to bring the most important people for the generation to the ecosystem
It’s a fair point. The first 30-50 million or whatever buyers are the biggest spenders and the most important audience.
But it’s also the case that Switch 1 software has been decreasing for a number of years. And Switch 1+2 software is expected to drop this year from the previous. I don’t think Nintendo can afford to rest on their laurels.
If we can get that many people to buy a Switch 2 now. -_-
