WWE 2K17 Sells an Estimated 490K Units First Week at Retail - Sales

The professional wrestling game from 2K Sports - WWE 2K17 - sold 489,546 units first week at retail on consoles, according to our estimates. First week sales can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending October 15.

Breaking down the sales by platform, the game sold best on the PlayStation 4 with 277,527 units sold (57%), compared to 125,428 units sold on the Xbox One (26%).  The game also sold 47,039 units on the PlayStation 3 (10%) and 39,552 units on the Xbox 360 (7%).

Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in the US with 215,029 units sold (44%), compared to 186,839 units sold in Europe (38%). The game also sold 68,281 units in Japan (1%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 53,221 units in the UK, 29,801 units in Germany, and 21,420 units in France.

WWE 2K17 released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 worldwide on October 11.

I used to love these games, however this is one series where the move towards realism has hurt the fun for me. I really hated the last couple.

It's interesting to see that the sales of the games per year reflect the quality of the actual televised wrestling at the time (Anyone who watched Wrestlemania 32 will understand).
