Alan Wake 2 Sales Top 3 Million Units - Sales

Remedy Entertainment announced Alan Wake 2 has sold over three million units worldwide.

"Alan Wake 2's consumer sales continued at an expected pace alongside Alan Wake Remastered," reads the announcement. "In the second quarter, royalties from both titles were generated entirely by consumer sales and there were no platform deal accruals.

"Alan Wake 2's lifetime sales exceeded 3 million copies during Q2. Rest of the games in the Alan Wake franchise sold at a normal back-catalogue pace."

Alan Wake 2 released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store in October 2023.

The next game from Remedy, Control Resonant, will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and Epic Games Store on September 24. It has had over 1.5 million wishlists across all platforms.

Our own Lee Mehr gave the game a 9 out of 10 and said, "By gleefully lifting from its past, Remedy finds the perfect sweet spot between old and new concepts to make Alan Wake II into something truly special."

Deserves way more. Game is amazing, at least 5M for sure.

The important thing is that it wasn't a flop at all.
It was very well received. It won 3 GOTY awards. It's giving royalties to Remedy since 2 Million.
The first game was not exactly a sales success, we have to consider that too.

Not terrible, considering there's no Steam release. Deserves more, but it's not a terrible situation.

Alan Wake 2....the only game I've ever bought on Epic Store. I would have just gotten it on Steam if that was an option.

Exactly my story. I hate with a passion what Epic is doing, but this game probably wouldn't have happened without Epic, that much was clear. If it ever becomes available elsewhere, I'll probably buy it again.

I purchased both Alan Wake and Alan Wake's American Nightmare on Steam, and I would gladly purchase Alan Wake II if it were on Steam, and if my PC could run it.

Ouch, that game is DEMANDING!
