Call of Duty: Black Ops III was the top selling game in terms of revenue in the US on Black Friday, according to marketing research firm InfoScout. The game accounted for 9.8 percent of total video game revenue.

Madden NFL 16 was the second best-selling game with 6.7 percent market share. NBA 2K16 sits in third with 4.9 percent.

Super Mario Maker was the most popular exclusive title and the 12th most popular game overall, accounting for two percent of game revenue. Halo 5: Guardians and Splatoon are the only other exclusive games in the top 20.

Taking a look at consoles - the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were essentially neck and neck. The PlayStation 4 took home 42 percent of home console revenue, while the Xbox One accounted for 41 percent. The Wii U sits in third with 17 percent.

The Xbox One with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was the most popular console bundle. Target was selling the bundle for $299 and a $60 gift card. The bundle barely outsold the PlayStation 4 bundle with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

Funny that MS said "XB had a "really strong" Black Friday, and Sony did well too". I hear really strong > did well too, but that is obviously not the fact.

Man, no bloodborne, no Uncharted Collection, no Tearaway, no MLB 15 the show, no until dawn, no Dragon Quest Heroes, no Tales of Zestiria ... heck, the MGSV isnt even in there!?
the PS4 need a fanbase, not a bigger base.

With the exception of Uncharted, which is bundled with the majority of PS4 SKUs, did you really expect any of those to crack the top 20 on Black Friday? They're almost entirely older titles. The only other titles that are as old or older are entirely in the bottom 5 of that list, and all of those 5 were heavily discounted for Black Friday.

They are hardly old games.... they all released this year.MGSV released in September. If a 3 months game is already considered old, then I dont know what NES games are.

What did you except? Most of these games on this list are hype games and multiplat and no even if a game isn't in the top 20 it's still selling, but not that much to appear in the top 20.

and What is with this mentality if a game isn't in the top 10 or in this case top 20 it didn't sold well and is something bad?
"Oh no this game didn't appear on the list for the best sold games of all time what a huge flop lol" is kinda dumb to me.

The games that you mentioned were not on sale. The top 5 from the chart were selling for an average of 30 dollars each....

@Sprash Lot of people buy games on PS4. Like TONS, but most of them are all just 3rd party. I love Tearaway & until dawn (Until Dawn was def a huge surprised for me), i just wish more people would buy it, very underrated games IMHO.
Tbh, i thought Bloodborne is gonna be in here, im pretty sure they have some discounts on it. Some guy on facebook BB Fanpage got it for $20.

If true, I'm surprised how much PS4 leapt over X1 after 2015 black Friday. Star Wars made the difference perhaps?
