by William D'Angelo , posted on 26 December 2014 / 24,717 ViewsNovember is the second biggest month of the year for hardware sales. December has always been the biggest month. With November 2014 worldwide hardware sales in lets take a quick look at how well each platform sold.
The PlayStation 4 was the top selling console of the month selling 2,570,514 units. Xbox One sales have lagged far behind the PlayStation 4 all year and Microsoft has done what it could to close the gap. Microsoft was able to sell 2,266,106 Xbox One consoles for the month, not quite enough to catch the PlayStation 4.
The other eighth generation home console, the Wii U, sold 521,187 units for the month of November. That is less than a quarter of its rivals, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Taking a look at the eighth generation handhelds, the 3DS outsold the PlayStation Vita by more than seven times. Nintendo managed to sell 1,472,870 3DS' for the month, while Sony sold 197,844 PlayStation Vita's.
Finally, there is the sales for the last generation home consoles. Sales for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were almost identical. The Xbox 360 sold 439,997 units, while the PlayStation 3 sold 402,233 units. The Wii lagged behind selling just 106,080 units.

How are PS4 sales at 2.57 million rounded down to 2.5 million, while Xbox One sales are rounded up from 2.26 to 2.3 million and 3DS sales are rounded up from 1.47 to 1.5 million?
Another poorly written article William
Everybody knows he's a incorrigible MS fanboy, most articles prove that.
On the title it says PS4 2.6M? and Xbox One 2.3M?
Lol, rounds PS4 down but XBO up. Seems legit xD
Not that it was even close but why is this comparing Wii U's OCTOBER numbers with XB1 & PS4's NOVEMBER numbers, also 3DS, Vita, PS3, 360 & Wii are these November or Octobers numbers? A little confusing.
I think it was a typo
It says those Wii U sales were for October. Was that a typo?
How appropriate, we round up our consoles of choice while running down all other we tend not to care about.....
So XBOX ONE gained no ground on PS4? If things return to "normal" the XBOX ONE will have an even greater hurdle to climb next holiday season.
I'll wait for the official numbers from NDP or from both of Sony and Microsoft.
Damn!!! That PsVita Sales! =( Sony needs to do something fast!
Best thing they could do is it kill it everywhere besides Japan
Thanks for taking the time and posting the totals.
Even though I might be slowly turning into a PS4 fanboy. I'm taking the high road. I'm not like the other guys.
So the Wii U will be over a million or close to 2 by the end of December?
