@Zim: I think it's pretty safe to say that ME3 will outsell ME2 on both consoles. 360 without question, and PS3 version preorders is going to be probably >50% of LTD sales of ME2. So FW ME3 sales on PS3 could be almost 60% of ME2 LTD.

Thanks for the 360 FFXIII pre-order comparison. I was wondering if FFXIII would end up being a bit of a let down for 360 owners and hence XIII-2 would be a bit like it's performing in Japan on PS3, i.e. much lower sales. Seems like FFXIII appealed more to the western FF audience than the Japanese one.

They don't seem to be mentioning it so for anyone interested the 360 version of FF13 had pre-orders of 135k in the week before launch (however that is Americas, not USA). So it seems both versions should pass 13 pre-order numbers.

I honestly can't believe how big an improvement ME is getting in pre-orders. Utterly brilliant. I hope both versions sell far more than 2.

Can Xenoblade, pull a bit of a surprise and push the total sales up in Americas, I hope so, FF XIII-2 total is slowly reaching 500,000 In USA for both PS3 & 360, will it do better than XIII? it looks like that till now

Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy XIII-2 show the difference between PS3 and X360 audiences

....Not really. Mass effect started as a 360 exclusive so has more fans there. FF has been on Sony systems for years and for the longest time it was assumed 13 would be exclusive. You can't really use the two games as clear examples.

Yeah... the same happened with Dark Souls... on pS3 were a base of fans so sold better on PS3..

A Better example could be any third party shooter (BF3, crysis 2) vs Assasin's creed revelations or FIFA12... Any shooter sell better on x360 and Soccer games and Adventure games sell better on PS3...

Seems I need to elaborate : Mass Effect 2 is considered the best RPG of 2010, FFXIII was said to be the most disappointing one. Mass Effect is the rising RPG IP and Mass Effect 3 is the most anticipated of the two if the press is to believe, but PS3 players still favour the "declining" Final Fantasy series. This imho shows that PS3 players, unlike X360 players, prefer JRPGs over WRPGs.

Operation Raccoon City pre-orders need to be higher. But since RE6 just got announced I think most people will wait for that. SIGH. Hopefully the online community is big enough to last me a few months.

Mass Effect 3 pre-ordered yesterday, add one to the list for next week.. lol :)
It's funny how the games that pre-order well are quite different to the ones that are the top sellers.... true gamers show in the pre-order charts, Wii and Casual vibes dominate the top sellers: not sure whether to be smiling or crying..

How will do RE:ORC after the annouce of RE6 and with RE:rev soon before its release? I think that's a bad move of Capcom..
