Supergiant Game's Greg Kasavin has announced that its game Bastion has surpassed a combined half a million copies sold. The game is available for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade and on Steam. Holiday sales helped push the games sales over the top.

"When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark,"  said Greg. "It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we’re doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."

The game has been critically acclaimed receiving well over 60 awards. Our very own Craig Snow over at gamrReview gave the game an 8.6 in his review. "Bastion is an excellent XBLA title, with a superb soundtrack, enjoyable combat and upgrade systems, beautiful presentation and a narrator that’s second to none," said Craig. "Bastion is, for the time being, the clear frontrunner to be crowned this year’s Summer of Arcade must-have, and for good reasons."

This game is awesome. I enjoyed every minute of it. I just wish it was longer.

Excellent. Can't think of a more deserving XBLA game to get that many sales. Here's hoping it can easily make it's way to 1 million.

Did it have price drops on XBLA in December or was it just on Steam?

It was a Deal of the Day the first day for the Twelve days of Christmas on the 360.
