Google's Paul Kinlan, speaking at Develop Liverpool, has announced that the company is looking to add plug-and-play features to its Chrome web browser.  It would allow the use of a gamepad to interact with web content. It is also planning to add open source video and voice chat support.

The plug-and-play features are expected to be available early next year. It could open up the possibility of cloud gaming and live video chat services to the browser in the future.
