2011 Year on Year Sales and Market Share Update to August 20th - News

Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers and change in sales performance of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.
"Year to date" sales for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 sales are shown in series at the top of the table and then just below a comparison of 2011 versus 2009 and 2011 versus 2010 is displayed. This provides an easy-to-view summary of all the data.

PS3 is only marginally out pacing 2010 sales, just after the price cut. I don't think this will keep up. It's likely PS3 will end up with annual sales between the 2009 and 2010 figures

Microsoft needs to do something if they want to top 2010's sales. Kinect round 2 and strong bundles will likely have 360 top 2009 sales, but will it be enough to even out with PS3 for 2011? I don't think so, they must be planning something since both Sony and MS have 15m predictions for their fiscal years.
PS3 price cut is doing well. I knew $100 was too much to cut off. Lets see for how long the PS3 price cut mimics the Wii, and when holiday sales will rejump sales.
wow console sales have really dipped this year, maybe microsoft and sony should of had their new consoles ready by next year?
Yeah I hope so... Samsung have invented the first Ultra High Definition televisions so I hope that the new consoles will be released within 2012-2013.
I have also red a text on this website where they said that the graphics of the Playstation 4 was going to look like Avatar!!!
