Wii looks over tracked. VGC needs some adjustments to be made
Already said that wii needs to come down by about 1.2M, especially after the quarterly reports come Thursday.
XBOX 360 is barely holding on to the positive YTD, starting next week it will start dropping at least 200k a week in comparison to year before, and if that continues like that it will drop below PS3 numbers (PS3 only drops around 50k a week in comparison to last year sales). I am hoping to hear a PRICE drop for PS3 at Gamescom, only question I have is, is it going to be $199 or $249 PS3? I am leaning towards $199, common SONY make me proud.
AWESOME DIAGRAM!!!!! 360 looks so small, Wii, PSP, DS are dying
Xbox needs to drop price. This year is going to be close one between the three. Holidays can take this in any direction.
Last week with 360 in the positive. Can it get it back by the end of the year? Assuming a price cut at Gamescon it will be about 400k in the negative by then. Sales would need to increase by about 80% to put it on even footing with last year on a weekly basis, at least until the Kinect launch.
If it gets cut at any point in the rest of the year, it'll be up. July - October saw weekly sales of 160 - 200k, not unachieveable at any cost, then it's down to the holidays.
Will we get a Holiday with no console at 1M week but all of them really close? I believe so... but if the cuts are well received I can see Xbox and PS doing 1,2M or even more depending on timing. Let's also see if nintendo can put another magical holiday, because even the price drop fadded quite fast.
Wii may have 1 week selling 1M but the other 3 weeks near the holidays it will do like 800K
