Developer Plays Bayonetta for a Year - His Thoughts (Video)

by Keith Sadler, posted on 27 April 2011 / 1,769 Views

Reminiscent of old DVD commentaries from days gone by, these are a series of videos of voice-over commentary by the lead developer for Bayonetta while he plays his own game. Videos are embedded from Platinum Games' website and may be viewed by clicking past the jump. The commentary is, helpfully, subtitled in English.

He said he’s seen a lot of players submitting their own commentary tracks while playing the game so he wanted to submit one as well.

It’s a really interesting insight into a process very few of us get to see, especially since today’s development scene is subject to a huge amount of scrutiny already.

@Troll_Whisperer. almost all of Valve games have this feature, you should check them out.

This is a very good idea. There should be an option for this in games where, while you play the game, developers comment on different stages of it as you reach them. It would give it so much replay value.

Man, this shit is so cool. I really need to play Bayonetta, like, right now. It's been languishing in my backlog for far too long. Someone get SWERY to do this for Deadly Premonition!

That's an awesome idea. I'd love to see Miyamoto or Yuji Horii do the same thing.
