Platinum Games Making Online Combat Game for PS3 and Xbox 360

by Nicholas Taylor, posted on 26 January 2011 / 880 Views

The reformed former Clover Studios, Platinum Games, which have released a few games since their inception, most notably Bayonetta and most recently Vanquish, are working on a new online combat game for PS3 and Xbox 360, entitled Max Anarchy, which will reportedly support a large amount of players. It's the first online combat game from the developer.

Famitsu gives the first details on the game this week, and screens show players using torches and chainsaws to do battle. Jack Cayman, the main character of the developer's 2009 Wii title MadWorld will be a playable character in the game, and will evidently be in full colour this time around.

While not many details are available at this moment, we can likely expect more information shortly as Famitsu has had a lenghty developer interview with Atsushi Inaba of Platinum Games.

Max Anarchy is being published by SEGA and will be out sometime in 2011.

Platinum Games is becoming one of my favourite studios, looking forward to this! Hope they make ps3 the lead platform like vanquish.

This developer seems to push out solid game after solid game

Another game not coming to wii, figures; I thought they still wanted to explore on the wii with more violent titles?

Would make more sense seeing as they are "fixing" what many complained about with Madworld (color, online, etc) they would at least try this on Wii.

Gee, online combat, crazy idea I wish they thought of when they released Madworld. Typical 3rd party behavior, release a watered down lackluster game on Wii and tote it as an exclusive then throw it on PS3/360 with all the bells and whistles...
