Lara Croft's First DLC Title Will Launch without Online Play
by Carlos Macias, posted on 06 August 2010 / 772 ViewsThe Tomb Raider games have never been known for incredible online multiplayer. Heck, none of the games have supported online interaction in any way besides the recent inclusions of achievements and trophies in the last few games.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a different story. The downloadable title emphasizes teamwork as Lara Croft is tasked to work with Mayan warrior Totec to do some tomb raiding in co-op, isometric fashion.

Crystal Dynamics announced today that online co-op for the XBLA release of the game will be delayed until the PSN and PC ports launch on September 28 -- a month and a half after the XBLA version hits on August 18.
“We made a decision recently because we were focusing on how we can deliver the best possible experience to the players. If we had launched with online co-op, we wouldn’t feel comfortable that it was the best possible experience for the player,” Crystal Dynamics global brand director Karl Stewart told Joystiq.
The good news is that online play wasn't simply stripped from the game to meet the Xbox 360's "Summer of Arcade" promotion. Online co-op will make it in there -- eventually. Bummer for those of you excited for the game, or will same-screen co-op be good enough for the time being?
