Zelda II: The FPS is TOTALLY a Real Thing

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has always been the biggest first-party black sheep of the Zelda family.  (We'll just forget about Wand of Gamelon, m'kay?  It wasn't official!)  "It doesn't feel like a Zelda game," say the purist fanboys.  The way I look at it, however, is that it was the first sequel, and Nintendo hadn't quite worked out the formula they wanted to use for the next thirty years yet.  Same thing happened with Mario.

Despite what you may feel about the first Zelda sequel, someone out there loved it enough to update it... into a fully 3D FPS.  Let me just say:

It.  Is.   Awesome.

HERE.  You should play it right now.  For reals.  Better than Left 4 Dead.  But I have to go and, ummm... type something now?  Yeah, that's it... type something.  Pew pew pew swords, yeah!

Edit: It's not actually the whole game, just up to and including the first boss.  Here's hopin' he finishes it and doesn't get sued by Nintendo!

@FreeTalkLive: I was talking about the American version, the Mario-ization of Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic, and not the very-similar-to-the-first-but-way-harder Japanese Mario 2, which the U.S. got as The Lost Levels. And yes, it was cool. :D But it was a big departure, I thought, from the rest of the series. I would definitely play that in 3D too, though.

Thank you mister. Though Nick, I think you may be confused, because this line doesn't make sense. "Same thing happened with Mario." If you are talking about Super Mario Bros. The 2nd game was very, very much like the first game. Maybe you are Talking about the original American version of Super Mario Bros 2 which was actually a pretty cool non-Mario Japanese game that Nintendo brought to the US with a Mario theme.

It may be the black sheep of the family, but it is still one of my favorite games of all time and i will definitely try out this 3D remake.

that was epic, i hope he can get around to finishing it, honestly i believe that nintendo should hire him and give him a small team of devs and publish this on wiiware, that would be epic
