2010 Year on Year Sales and Market Share Update to April 3rd
by Brent Williams, posted on 09 April 2010 / 4,049 ViewsHere we see data representing the global sales through to consumers, and change in sales performance, of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.

The Wii has a good week and is up year on year by a very healthy 69,000 units or 30.0%. This solid performance also helps the Wii build on its performance to show that it is up year on year - year to date by 2.45%. The Wii continues to spoil the predcictions of many to post a good start to 2010.
The PS3 has another massive week and the strategy of releasing lots of big hitters in the first 3 months of the year has paid off for Sony. Supply is now resolved and in shows in the discrete year on year increase of 84%. The PS3 continues its fantastic start to 2010 up over 40% year on year - year to date.
The 360 is also up this again this week by a very healthy 20% in comparison to 2009. The 360 continues its trend of improving against 2009 numbers and is now down just under 5% for the year to date. If this continues then the 360 will join the Wii and PS3 in being up year on year - year to date by early May.
I still see all three consoles having a better 2010 than 2009.
