by William D'Angelo , posted on 05 May 2020 / 3,345 ViewsThe next generation of consoles are around a year away from release as both Sony and Microsoft have confirmed the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett will launch in Holiday 2020.
A job listing (spotted by ResetEra) for a Senior Cloud Engineer Manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment originally stated the PlayStation 5 will be the "world's fastest console." The line has since been removed.
The job listing originally said the following:
"You will be managing distributed systems that are powering 100+ million PS4 consoles that deliver immersive gaming experiences. You will also be one of the leaders of an elite team that is super excited to launch the upcoming world’s fastest console(PS5) in 2020. You will love working at PlayStation if you have a strong passion for systems, availability, and resiliency."

Wonder if they know something we don't.
Would be weird if it was slower than 8th gen wouldn’t it.
Well, to try and look at this in the most simple way. PS see's with Pro that they don't need the 'world's most powerful console', so they might as well let MS keep that marketing slogan, but not by so much that's it's a troublesome concern for gamers, while instead focusing on an overall faster console. Quick loading times, snappy UI, basically everything that will be clearly evident to all PS5 owners. Assuming of course that Scarlett won't be as capable in these instances, giving PS5 it's own advantages.
As is often the case when a new system launches, at least for a while.
Sure thing, but while neither have specs revealed nor a firm date, they can claim this and be as meaningless as it have been in the past.
Yeah nice PR from $ony as always.
Fastest selling, Fastest processing power, Fastest if you throw it out a window? That term doesn't mean shit. They'll probably be pushing that around anyway with the SSD they're going to be heralding as the first machine ever to have one in there.
Blast processing confirmed
Yes sure, I do remember you saying this in all the threads and news about Scorpio being the most powerful console ever.
Gee, someone is a little sensitive.
