Sony: PS4 Worldwide Sales Top 60.4 million - News

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced worldwide PlayStation 4 sales have surpassed 60.4 million units to consumers as of June 11.
487.8 million games have been sold on the PlayStation 4 at retail and through digital downloads on the PlayStation Store.
There are more than 70 million monthly active users worldwide as of the end of March. There are 26.4 million paid PlayStation Plus subscribers.

PS4 hype train is speeding up. They sold 7M in the last 5 months. 100m will be a breeze.
Quite the sales and it's 4th year no less. So 100mill by mid to late 2019 should do it.
That's a pretty decent number of consoles sold since launch. Sony gotta be pleased with this generation. Now, lets hope they don't screw up the next one by taking gamers for granted again and telling them to get two jobs.
I don't think it's possible to screw up that badly again. Back when the PS3 launched, there was a lot of new hardware in the works that Sony decided to jam into a console to make a cutting edge powerhouse. It backfired pretty hardcore. These days though, those leaps just aren't there unless you're trying to make a true 4K console, and even then, Microsoft managed it while being able to take an acceptable loss at a $500 price point. Too high for a console, but that means in two or three years, we can expect a 4K capable console to be available for sub-$400 pretty reliably.
so VGC off by a few hundred thousand
Who knows, they are so far behind that there's no telling what numbers they've estimated for May and early June. I suspect they'll be pretty close, since Sony has released sell through numbers at reasonable intervals that VGC shouldn't go too far astray.
70 millions sold for the end of this year, 75 millions shipped for the end of fiscal year.
