Resident Evil VII: Biohazard Sells an Estimated 1.38M Units First Week at Retail - Sales

The survival horror game from Capcom - Resident Evil VII: Biohazard - sold 1,378,435 units first week at retail, according to our estimates. First week sales can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending January 28.
Breaking down the sales by platform, the game sold best on the PlayStation 4 with 1,109,501 units sold (80%), compared to 268,934 units sold on the Xbox One (20%).
Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in Europe with 578,010 units sold (42%), compared to 394,280 units sold in the US (29%) and 202,785 units sold in Japan (15%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 82,925 units in the UK, 137,173 units in Germany, and 92,958 units in France.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America and Europe on January 24 and in Japan on January 26.

I hope this is true! They deserve good sales for taking the series back to its roots. Been playing for a few hours so far and it pretty sweet. Just got to the first boss with the chainsaw. Getting really good!
What a way to taking it back to its roots!! I just finished it yesterday, after procastinating a lot about it (I was scared to play it to say the truth), and I can say its one of the best horror games Ive played (and I play a lot, Silent hill all of them, Amnesia, Deadspace, Outlast, etc etc).
RE6, Operation Racoon City, Umbrella Corps hurt the RE franchise. If not this probably will sell more.
I don't think that is the reason for the amount of sales. I think this genre of games people rather watch it in Youtube/Twich then actually play it... That is why
I think they will not make any more games like this for the resident evil franchise
@MrSeijuurou This pretty much shows whats wrong with the gaming community. First complain how it isnt horror anymore and then they finally made a horror game and people are like "Hey lets dont support this game, we rather watch lets plays of it". Just look how many views that PewdiePie video got, friggin 8 million views. Damn what a world! -.-

For trying something new, its a good number!Hopefully this keeps on selling because its the best RE game in a long time
Hey...The data is not accurate...PC sales are missing...The game sold an additional 28666 units on PC too...
Can't wait to get it. have to much on my plate right now but after Mass Effect if it's on sale I'm going to jump on it.
