Ubisoft: Nintendo has Learned From the Wii U When It Comes to the NX - News

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told IGN that Nintendo has learned from the mistakes of the Wii U when it comes to the NX.

"What we see is that Nintendo has learned from the Wii U," said Guillemot. "All publishers learn from what they do, and then come with something new and more attractive, which I think is the case here."

"I think, once again, the interface is very attractive,"he added. "It's a machine that will be easy to use for all gamers. They have built in something that will give us chance to really have a different experience from what exists today. That's what I like - that they come with something new that is adapted to what we actually want now."

The NX has a release window of March 2017.

I'm actually pretty worried... People saying Nintendo learned from its mistakes, but do they or even Nintendo know what the mistakes were?

It's nice to see that the folks who've seen it are full of praise. Contrary to the people who haven't.

This is the usual song and dance. They do state things in a very optimistic way to keep favor with their potential fanbase and customers. EA stated before PlayStation Pro was announced that both it and Scorpio are good for the industry. It was a very general response. The same was said of developers for Xbox One and PS4. but, when a console actually releases and consumers start making their purchases and taking sides voicing their opinions, then yes developers start pulling their support and going where the biggest crowd and most money is. Business and politics really aren't that different. It's all talk and presentation.

Like the last comment said: the only way to really know is to announce it already. Then that optimism will either ring true or consumers will call his bluff and Nintendo will again be ignored. It really is a good thing though consumers like playing the same IPs with sleight variations and keep coming back, because Nintendo have had to survive on their own first party games and A LOT of LEGO, Nickelodeon, and Disney love. Wii had a strong start and then was flooded with so much garbage.

I take this with a grain of salt, if I remember right devs praised the Wii U too, especially Ubisoft since they supported it the most.

Its nice how we get all this news about how they have learned and so far on the marketing and promotional side, not even talking about the negativity and rumours on the internet, they have done a much worse job with the NX then the WiiU. Release the information already, its gotten silly.

Honestly, I can't make a judgment on whether or not they are doing a better job at marketing the system than the Wii U. It's clear that Nintendo will start the marketing once they announce the console. I think once they start the marketing phase, they will go all out so EVERYBODY knows what the NX is. They have 6 months to market this thing. I think they will be fine.
