Star Fox Zero Sells an Estimated 268K First Week at Retail - Sales
by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 May 2016 / 40,556 ViewsThe 3D scrolling shooter game - Star Fox Zero - sold 267,695 units first week worldwide on the Wii U, according to our estimates, which can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending April 23rd.
Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in the US with 157,609 units sold (59%), compared to 47,743 units sold in Europe (18%) and 25,058 units sold in Japan (9%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 8,938 units in the UK, 12,385 units in Germany, and 11,603 units in France.
Star Fox Zero released in Japan on April 21st and on April 22nd in North America and Europe.

Not to bad.
It did better than I thought it would, honestly. Hopefully Nintendo gives it another shot and makes a true successor to this, instead of another semi-remake.
Aye from what I've been reading this is a re design of Lylat wars again, but saying that... that is one of my favourite games of all time, I just don't understand how it took so damn long for them to make what isn't really a new game... well it's new but I hope you get what I mean it isn't really from the ground up "new".

If some journalist has took the time to look at the menu you can deactivate the gimmicks like you mention and playing the game the old style.
I think this qualifies as out performing its expectations.
I still think if they had dropped the gamepad gimmicks, and made it look better, the game would have sold more.
That's higher then i expected. It might climb up to 500k LTD. Maybe there is still hope for the Starfox franchise.
And people were already predicting STAR FOX's demise. This is pretty good all things considered.
