PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Global Lifetime Sales – November 2015 Update - Sales

Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Worldwide’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U in November 2015 shows how the PlayStation 4 has continued to grow its lead over the Xbox One and Wii U, outselling both of them combined. The Xbox One in turn continues to increase its lead over the Wii U.

The PlayStation 4 passed the 31 million mark, the Xbox One passed the 17 million mark, and the Wii U passed the 11 million mark. The PS4 has sold 31.50 million units lifetime, the Xbox One 17.17 million units, and the Wii U 11.24 million units.

Taking a look at the marketshare, the PlayStation 4 tops the other two platforms combined. The PlayStation 4 has 53 percent market share, the Xbox One sits at 29 percent, and the Wii U 18 percent.

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 31,496,906

Xbox One Total Sales: 17,174,630

Wii U Total Sales: 11,243,204

The PlayStation 4 has outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U every month since it launched in November 2013. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U in November for the 17th straight month. The PS4 outsold the Xbox One by 1,406,429 units for the month and the Wii U by 2,946,267 units. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 1,539,838 units.

When you compare monthly sales to a year ago the PlayStation 4 and Wii U are up, while the Xbox One is down. The PlayStation 4 is up 1,094,156 units, the Xbox One is down 58,890 units, and the Wii U is up 21,917 units.

Looking at market share for the month of November, the PlayStation 4 managed to achieve 57 percent. The Xbox One accounted for 34 percent of the consoles sold, and the Wii U a modest nine percent.

PlayStation 4 Monthly Sales: 3,476,080

Xbox One Monthly Sales: 2,069,651

Wii U Monthly Sales: 529,813

The Wii U beat the PS4 and Xbox One to the market by a year. The Wii U launched in November 2012, while the PS4 and Xbox One launched in November 2013.

PS4 sold over 900,000 more consoles YoY.

Xbox One is down ~200,000.

I expect this dominance to continue this generation with good sales for the xbox as second but the real question is how will the NX do.

You are reading something wrong. Only the PS4 is up. Xbox One and Wii U both down.
