PS4 and Xbox One Sell 300,000+ Combined in China

PS4 and Xbox One Sell 300,000+ Combined in China - News

by Jared Katz , posted on 05 August 2015 / 6,509 Views

According to IDC, the combined sales of the Xbox One and PS4 in China have surpassed 300,000 units.

Unfortunately IDC don't appear to have provided a breakdown on the split between the two platforms, but regardless the figure as it stands is fairly low. IDC and Niko Partners do, however, expect between 250,000 and 300,000 more units to be sold in China by the end of the year.

100k XBO and 200k PS4 seem The most likely scenario imo.

XBO should be at 71k by end of April. I doubt it Sold just 4k in 3 months. And yeah it was a rumor, but until a better Source i use those numbers, just like media create for Japan and NPD for The US.

Probably Xbox. They released earlier, and the Chinese don't like the Japanese.

Good start. Considering the appeal of imported consoles that don't have the restrictions.

China always seemed the perfect market for nintendo to release the wii in for that burgeoning middle class. Wonder why they aren't getting involved?

Well in a way they were already involved and have been for years because of iQue. Iwata was talking about a while back how he didn't think Microsoft's approach wouldn't work by just releasing their current console in China and to be honest he's kind of right because sales have been pretty low. He intended to make a brand new low priced console for China and other small countries Nintendo's yet to sell stuff there, but then their move to mobile gaming happened and I think Nintendo's changed their mind and is now working on a different approach. Iwata went quiet over it for a while and now he's sadly passed away, it could be a while before we hear about it again.
