Yu Suzuki has released a short new trailer for Shenmue III. You can view it below:

The Shenmue III Kickstarter campaign wraps up in ~60 hours. At the time of writing it has raised $4.93 million in community funding from 55,445 backers.

Considering all the attention Shenmue is getting, I am surprised Sega has still neglected to release Shenmue I & II on the PC. Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure and a bunch of other Dreamcast have made it. My only guess is that the delay is a result of legal issues.

It was one of the first open world games. You could get a job driving a forklift at the docks, walk around the city watching people live and occasionally get into fights. At the time it was amazing but it will need to do so much more for this day and age.
