The Witcher 3 Expansions Will be About the Size of The Witcher 2 - News
by Jared Katz , posted on 09 July 2015 / 3,096 ViewsIn an interview with Gamereactor, The Witcher 3’s Game Director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, has revealed that the two expansions for the game together will be about the same size as The Witcher 2.

Tomaszkiewicz also talked about the new elements found in the expansions, and how much time fans should expect to put into each one:
"The expansion packs will be whole new storylines with all the elements you've got in the main story (like cutscenes, new characters, new items, new Gwent cards) and many, many more. They will be quite long.
The first expansion will be around 10 hours and the second expansion will be around 20 hours... and I think it's possible that they will be bigger, because it's always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it's twice or something like this), but I'm not promising anything right now.
And even now, if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it's almost the size of The Witcher 2. And it will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy."

The first expansion, Hearts of Stone, will launch this fall, while the second expansion, Blood and Wine, will be released early next year.

Such awesome news, cant wait to play more witcher with all the new patches too.
Now that's how you do an expansion.
oh man, I hope they do more of this. Witcher 3 was just such a great game. If they keep on putting out updates like they have been with more expansions, I think I'm going to lose it.
I hope that attention to detail will be like in Witcher 2 as well - I'll take something like Flotsam over Novigrad and Oxenfurt in W3 any time of day.
Same as Splatoon, if such a big chunk of the game is added later Gamers will have the feel of having bought a not full game...
Are you making a joke? The witcher 3 has more content than all the wiiu Nintendo games combined!

Well, depend in how its done. If they offer a full experience at first and than offer expansions its good. Nobody complains about The Sims expansions or Skyrim.
